Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the HexWare app and this website collect and how we use it. By using HexWare or this website, you agree to this policy.

What we collect

  • Your account. When you create an account we store a scrambled (hashed) copy of your account number and its last 4 characters, your plan, and when the account was created. We don't ask for your name or email.
  • Hardware ID (HWID). The app sends an identifier generated from your PC. We store it with your account the first time you login, so the account only works on that PC.
  • App login log. Each time the app logs in we record the time, your account, your HWID, your IP address, the app version, and whether the login worked.
  • Account activity. We record actions on your account, such as logins on the website, PC resets and redeemed keys, with the time and IP address.
  • Payments. Payments are handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of the payment, the plan bought, and Stripe's customer and subscription IDs for your account, never your card details.
  • Request data. Like any website or online service, our server and our CDN (Cloudflare) process your IP address, browser or app details, and the pages or files requested.

How we use it

We use this data to run HexWare: to log you in, bind your account to your PC, deliver game modules and features for your plan, prevent account sharing and abuse, enforce our Terms of Service (including bans of accounts and PCs), and keep the service secure and working.

What stays on your PC

The game memory HexWare reads and changes, your settings, and your saved teleport locations stay on your computer.

Other requests the app makes

  • downloading game modules from our server,
  • downloading game cover art from Steam's content servers,
  • fetching live player counts and the "What's New" update log from our server.

Third-party services

  • Cloudflare: delivers and protects our website and server.
  • Steam / Valve: provides game cover images and public player-count numbers.
  • Stripe: processes payments for the Master Package and Lifetime. Stripe collects your payment details under its own privacy policy.
  • Google Fonts and unpkg: serve the font and icon files used on this website.

Each of these services handles data under its own privacy policy.

Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. We may disclose data if we're required to by law, or to protect HexWare, our rights, or our users.

Retention

We keep account data and the app login log for as long as your account exists, and longer where we need it to enforce a ban. We may delete accounts and their data at any time.

Cookies

We set one cookie that keeps you logged in to this website. We don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the data we hold, but no system is completely secure, and we can't guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.

Children

HexWare is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

We may update this policy at any time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
